On the road to Graz

After a very fast trainride to Vienna we quickly got a spot on a packed train to Graz. As perfectly on time as the first part of the trip was, we quickly got delayed on the second train on our way to Graz. Although, that momentary feeling bestly described by being in a Dutch NS train (never on time, never knowing if you will arrive at all) soon subsided through listening to an extremely sensual voice. Slowly and subtly the train conductor was speaking through the speakers. Our hearts were softened, and we were delighted by the comfort of this incredible voice. Soon we were even more delighted, this man came to check our tickets. Quite an old appearance, but very kind and funny this lad said ‘Mr…. Renkens’ in a completely new way, while pronouncing Janickova correctly too. And in that moment, he even moved the train as the train suddenly continued its way to Graz.

Both reading our books, I did 7 pages, Maťka a lot more… Listening to a really cool artist Ana Andrzejewska, real nice music, Polish, just like the woman behind us calling for about 2 hours straight, incredible.

In Graz we checked in at our hostel, took a very cheap tram to the old city and found a cheap but incredible restaurant. Everything here is very cheap, but maybe because the city is run by communists, since they won the local elections last time, who knows. With a pumkin lasagne and kasespatzle in our bellies we left for a nice walk ending up in our hostel unexpectedly watching a full episode (or maybe it was a movie, we’re not sure) of nord nord mord, assuming it was an Austrian crime series, the police was very amateuristic and eventually Sigi wasn’t the person who even done the murder, but I guess you have to see the series/movie to believe it. Fun times! Tomorrow we see the sights of Graz, but for now we say goodnight and sweet dreams 😴
